About me

I grew up around golf and had a club in my hand at an early age.  I played every sport under the sun as a kid in Pittsburgh, including high school basketball and varsity rowing.  It was when my family moved to Texas that golf became my obsession.  I was fortunate enough to stumble into the office of Kevin Kirk who would help me pursue golf at the college level as well as mentor my professional coaching journey.  I went on to play collegiate golf at St. Edward’s university in Austin, Texas.

Following college, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere but a golf course and began picking range balls and cleaning carts at a local club in Austin.  A few jobs and a PGA Professional membership later, I found my true passion in developing young competitive players.  That passion led me to my first coaching job as The Head Men’s and Women’s coach at St. Thomas University in Houston, Texas.  My upstart Celt men’s golf team knocked off the #1 team in the country to claim the 2013 Red River Conference Championship.  From there I moved on to become the assistant coach for the University of Oklahoma Women’s Team.  I was fortunate enough to inherit and recruit several players who would become all-americans, LPGA tour players and NCAA Champions.  I really got to see how the best in the business operate.

I spent the next eight years as the Head Coach of The University of South Alabama’s Women’s team.  I took over a struggling Division one program and in a few short years was able to re-write the university record books.  All told, my Student-Athletes won over two dozen tournaments and in eight years, my teams hold the six lowest year-long team scoring averages in the 50 year history of the program.

I have learned a lot as a coach along the way.  I have become incredibly well versed in Trackman, Sam-Putt Lab, AimPoint, DECADE course management as well as the physical side of golf through Titleist Performance Institute education.  I understand how to develop elite junior golfers and I know what the top players in college golf look like.  I have recruited top caliber players at every level of college golf and I know what it takes to compete there as well as what the recruiting process looks like from a university’s perspective.

I am excited about the next chapter of my coaching career and I am uniquely qualified to help young athletes grow into college bound players.  I also know what skills student-athletes need to succeed at the college level and beyond.  I love the idea that elite performers “don’t rise to the level of their goals, they fall to the level of their systems.”  I am excited to help athletes build systems that will support their goals.
